| Saint Estèphe's terroirs Three blocks make up the identity of the Tour des Termes vineyard. One is on a deep gravel terrace typical of the Médoc, while the other two consist of clay on top of limestone, representing Saint Estèphe’s geological diversity. These soil types have guided the choice of grape varieties, with 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. It is these proportions that give Tour des Termes its character. The Merlot expresses suppleness, elegance and roundness, the Cabernet Sauvignon is the backbone of the wine, providing structure and acidity, while the Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot bring precious aromatic notes and finesse. |
| Expertise and commitments A great wine is the messenger of a terroir where human work supports the vines on their soil and in their microclimate. Respecting the life in the soil and biodiversity is a daily concern. Grass cover, no chemical weed killers, and care for the vines through numerous manual operations throughout the growth cycle constitute the daily routine of the Tour des Termes team. In this way, the energy, laughter, cries, doubts, joys - all the emotions of the winegrowers involved - are an integral part of Tour des Termes. Each vintage is a new opportunity to question and improve our practices, drawing on the experience of years past. Tour des Termes' next ambition is to be 100% self-sufficient in renewable energy with the construction of a new winery. |
